In the previous edition of the SAFF Cup in 2018, India had defeated Pakistan 3-1. This year, India, Pakistan, Kuwait, and Nepal are in Group A, with matches scheduled for June 21. Group B includes Lebanon, Bangladesh, Maldives, and Bhutan, with matches starting on June 22.
